Back in the Saddle

It’s been a while. So…I began a blog in 2020…and I quit blogging in 2020. This week I decided to get back in the saddle…it’s 2022. A lot has happened since 2020…a whole lot. In any case, I have been writing since then. I wrote a doctoral project and completed a degree. I have written at least a sermon a week, along with lessons for mid-week Bible study…you know, the pastor things. I’ve also written a book, which will soon be published, based on my academic project, but with practical application. (I’m looking forward to seeing this come to fruition later this year.) I’m a bit blown away by all of this, but realized I hav totally neglected writing online, which was one thing I set out to do in 2020…but a lot has happened since 2020.

In addition to these, I’ve had the privilege of writing periodically for one of our local newspapers, The Atmore News. I realized that these articles reflect my thoughts, some good, some bad, (along with some accuracies and some inaccuracies,) from September of 2020 until today. I decided to roll these articles out on this blog over the next few weeks. It is interesting to me to follow these thoughts though our shared cultural history. A lot has happened since 2020.

I hope you’ll join me as I post these “as they happened” thoughts and reflections. My intention is to post these each Friday, beginning September 9, 2022. Since the blog started, and ended, in 2020, you may want to read the posts, (all eight of them), to gain context. If you would, invite others to join in this journey.

  1. I will definitely follow your blog. There has been so much that has happened that I would love to read things that I may have possibly missed in your life, ministry and studies
